Peugeot announces electric concept car and new EV-only platforms
In recent years, Peugeot has demonstrated a strong commitment to electrification by unveiling innovative electric concept cars and developing new platforms exclusively designed for electric vehicles (EVs).
Peugeot Inception Concept: At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2023, Peugeot introduced the Inception Concept, a sleek and futuristic EV that showcases the brand's vision for the future of electric mobility. The Inception Concept is built on Stellantis' new STLA Large platform, one of four dedicated EV platforms under development. This platform is designed to support a range of vehicle sizes and configurations, enhancing performance and efficiency.
Peugeot e-LEGEND Concept: In 2024, Peugeot presented the e-LEGEND Concept, a 100% electric, autonomous, and connected prototype. This concept car features the Responsive i-Cockpit, offering four distinct driving modes to enhance the driving experience. The e-LEGEND Concept is powered by a 100 kWh battery, delivering 340 kW (approximately 450 horsepower) and 800 Nm of torque to all four wheels, enabling rapid acceleration and a range of advanced technological features.
Transition to an All-Electric Range: Peugeot has announced plans to transition to an all-electric lineup by 2030. The brand unveiled the all-new Peugeot e-408 in 2023, completing a range of 12 100% electric vehicles, including nine passenger cars and three light commercial vehicles. The e-408 offers an impressive range of up to 700 km, positioning Peugeot as a leader in electric mobility within the SUV market.
